What Is A Micropenis?

A Micropenis is exactly that. An unusually and abnormally small penis.  Otherwise known as a microphallus, a Micropenis is a penis that measures 3.5 inches or less (9cm or smaller).

It is extremely rare, with as little as 0.5% of the male population having a micropenis.  It is so unusual that few doctors have met anyone actually with a micropenis.

Penis size is subjective.

“What one man believes is a ‘small’ penis could be considered a ‘large’ penis to someone else.”

How Do I Know If I Have A Micropenis?

Only a doctor will be able to tell you for certain if you do indeed have a micropenis. It is diagnosed by a doctor on examination but it’s simple enough to diagnose yourself if you measure the length of your penis correctly.

But the majority of people who believe they have a micropenis don’t at all! It is worth noting that sometimes a penis will appear smaller than it really is if you are particularly overweight.

What Are The Causes Of Micropenis?

Micropenis usually occurs due to a hormone imbalance or problem that occurs 14 weeks after the embryo has been conceived when the penis is already formed. There usually is a hormonal condition present in micropenis sufferers which includes a lack of prenatal androgen production.

There are many causes for Micropenis for example; Inadequate pituitary stimulation (gonadotropin deficiency) or abnormal testicular development (testicular dysgenesis).

It can also be part of a genetic abnormality that has nothing to do with the sex chromosomes.

How Can Micropenis Be Treated?

If Micropenis is diagnosed early on in life during infancy or early childhood, hormone therapy (testosterone treatment) may help to promote penis growth.

Although even after the course is complete, the sufferer may never attain normal size penis. If it is not diagnosed in childhood, the penis has already completed its growth and so testosterone treatment will not be effective.

There are surgical options to treat micropenis including phalloplasty, but as with any surgical procedure, it is not without its risks. It could leave you with pain; scarring and you may still not have the penis you desire.

As rare as Micropenis is, there are still hundreds if not thousands, of men who are unhappy or dissatisfied with the size of their penis.

If you do not want the expense, pain or risks of surgery, why not try a safer and more affordable alternative?
